Find out how students can use didbook to take ownership of their own education:
1/6. Each student has their own didbook and secure login.
didbook is online so students can access it at school, at home,
or on their mobile device
2/6. Each student's didbook contains 'apps' which reflect parts of the student's life. Collectively these apps provide an holistic view of the student.
Each app has it's own sub-structure relevant to its contents. For example the My Targets app shows a list of active targets with icons that indicate the target status (on target, completed etc.), whereas
the Enrichment Diary provides tabs for different enrichment perspectives - such as 'sport' or 'charity'.
3/6. In each didbook app, students create new entries - recording reflections, achievements and aspirations in each area of their life.
Each entry can contain text, images, files and links to external resources (e.g. YouTube where permitted).
Students appreciate how didbook automatically formats the entries for them to make sure they look great.
4/6. Students can't see other student's didbooks but there are a number of ways in which they can showcase their Education Identity to other people.
The My Showcase app will allow students to pull together their best entries into a presentation which can then be sent (by a secure login) to potential employers, universities or other influential people in their lives.
5/6. Students can read and acknowledge comments left by teachers to help support them on their Education Identity journey.
This shows students (and parents) that the school values their achievements and is interested in really getting to know them.
Because didbook makes students feel proud of what they've achieved, it helps them grow in confidence and self-worth - becoming more engaged as
the link between their actions and who they are becomes clearer.
6/6. Students use didbook at any time - in lessons, free periods, at home or on the go.
Sequential help schools to implement didbook by creating tailored launch programmes, providing ideas about how and when students can use didbook to maximise its impact..
Step by Step: Teachers
Find out how teachers can use didbook to help them develop and support students:
1/5. Teachers have their own login and can see all of every student's didbook.
didbook is quick and easy to use. For example, the User Manager makes it quick and easy to find any student's didbook - with instant ('as you type') searching.
If a teacher is also a tutor, didbook will automatically show them their tutor group when they log in - just one of the little touches that help to make life a little easier..
2/5. didbook allows teachers to comment on student’s entries, encouraging quick, informal feedback on any aspect of the student’s school work, interests or activities.
Students respond with great enthusiasm to the comments they receive. It is gratifying for teachers that such quick, convenient little nudges can have such a positive and lasting impact.
3/5. Instant reports give teachers insight into how didbook is being used within the school, both from an individual student's perspective or for a selected group.
These reports enable teachers to get to know student cohorts better and
get a feel for how the school improvement programmes are progressing.
Teachers enjoy that didbook gives them this insight and provides simple, practical ways to actually do something about it.
4/5. didbook transforms any mentoring and tutoring programmes, and can be used in their classroom, in computer labs, in lessons or as homework.
Our work with school leaders creates a range of relevant, simple ways that teachers can use didbook - tailored to each schools needs. The didbook Improvement Centre contains many more ideas and resources.
5/5. Feedback has been positive from teachers... they like getting their job done more easily in a way that makes progress toward their vision of Education Identity.
"didbook has helped me improve my performance as a teacher and a tutor."
Teacher
"My favourite bit is the Enrichment Diary. I think it [didbook] definitely gives you that opportunity to get to know your students.
I think it is really valuable to be able to show that interest in them as a person, not just as a student that's here only to get grades"
Tutor
"It looks good, it's user friendly and the students rave about how good it is"

Step by Step:School leaders
Find out how school leaders use didbook to transform the practise of their school:
1/5. School leaders use didbook to progress school improvement plans.
Sequential provide strategic support through in-school consultancy sessions. This will help you plan which parts of your school improvement plan you'd like to tackle with didbook first...
didbook gives real structure and accountability to the most crucial areas of school leadership - student development, engagement and achievement.
2/5. didbook is planned through Improvement Formulas which communicate how didbook is to be used to every member of the team.
Improvement formulas provide clarity and consistency and they make sense to everyone in the school.
They can be stored in the didbook Improvement Centre which means everyone can access them and present them at leadership team meetings.
3/5. School leaders have their own secure didbook login too. They can see exactly who is doing what.
They can access any student's didbook and leave comments just like ordinary teachers do, helping them to stay involved.
School leaders can also see usage information for teachers - to find examples of best practice which can then be shared throughout the school.
4/5. Instant reports help monitor the schools progress towards Education Identity and didbook use - as well as gathering evidence for external inspections
This example is a wordal that can be helpful to get a feel for the hidden curriculum of the school.
5/5. Feedback has been positive from school leaders... they like getting their job done more easily in a way that makes progress toward their vision of Education Identity.
